Samsung SH-S162L - did anyone get that one ?

Postby BigYank on Tue Mar 07, 2006 5:16 pm

I am looking into getting a DVD writer. I was almost set to get the BenQ DW1655, but then this new Samsung poped up. At first I thought that it was just a clone of BenQ, but Samsung supports DVD-RAM (not an extremely useful feature, but still a difference).

Since both drives are LightScribe, and there has been exponential progress from 1st gen LightScribe speed (DW1625) to the second gen (DW1655), I would like to know how long it takes to print a label on the Samsung. 10-20min is still slow.

So, any impressions on the Samsung SH-S162L from you guys would be great.

Thanks,
Mark

Sorry, I'm still waiting to get mine from Samsung.

I haven't heard anything to suggest that Samsung drives are anything but mediocre. I think you'd be much better off with a BenQ which have been proven to be great drives.
