I am in the process of purchasing a 2.2 lbs laptop. This laptop will not have an internal dvd. Any recommendations or warnings from those who have gone down this path before?

PS I notice that the OptoRite TED80Y1 8x USB 2.0 DVD±RW will not run using just the USB connection. I need a drive that will run off USB. I know that some of the LaCie DVD drives might fill the bill. However, I would like to spend <$150. Another choice is the AOpen below.
