Sony CRX 215A1

Hi all,
I'm about to buy the new Sony CRX 215A1, and I need some information
like: is it rebugged Lite-On LTR-48246S ? does it support Mt. Rainier??
can I upgrade it to 52x32x52 ? can I burn 99min. media? ant last,
where can I read a review of that drive?

The Official Sony firmware does not include Mt. Ranier Compatibility.

Hello, congratulations about the web and the forum, and sorries about my poor english.

Two questions.

What´s the difference between 215A1 and 215E1? Sony´s web doesn´t talk anything about 215E1.

This Sony ( 215A1 ) has a mediatek 6, could be OC to LiteOn 52246 ( or Sony 220 ), is there any edited fw to do it under windows? or have to use mtkflash? in this last option, which version is recommended to do, 1.48 or 1.55?

No difference in the actual drive. I believe it is just a difference in packaging.

Dimitri has just posted a tool that allows you to modify the LiteOn firmware updaters that run under Windows so that they can be forced to update any OEM LiteOn drives, such as your Sony drive:
