What operating system and Nero/InCD versions are you using? You could have the problem that rdgrimes mentioned, that of InCD causing a blue screen when a CD-R was inserted. Before I blamed everything on cable select, I would try uninstalling InCD to see if a CD-R can then be successfully recognized and burned in Nero.
Just in case you don't already know and tried to use a CD-R disc with InCD, it can't use CD-R discs, only CD-RW discs.
I am running win2kpro and the nero cd that came with it is version 18.104.22.168. no i didn't know that In CD can't use cd-r..hmm?? oh gosh... what am I suppose to with the 200 CD-R discs form fuji that i bought from best buy? i gotta check receipt and see if i can still return 'em. and you know for some reason it seems like i can't enable the dma on both the primary and secondary IDE channel. what do guys think i should do first.? should i change Cable sel to master?, or uninstall in cd? or should i just return the darn thing. to tell you the truth it took me days before i discover this jewel site and read all the reviews that Ian posted and seemed like LITE ON was the right choice. i also had samsung on my mind but i think overall LITE ON was a good choice. hopefully you guys can assist me on figuring this thing out. I'm probably gonna burn midnight oil on this one since it's holiday tomorrow. thank god!! thanks again for all the responses!!!
