The New James Bond Is...

Postby Ian on Wed Oct 12, 2005 9:50 am

... Daniel Craig.

I can't say he'd be my first or even second choice. He's just doesn't look like Bond to me.. especially since he's blonde.

Yeah, I'll second that. I was watching the news this morning and heard he was, maybe, to be the new Bond.

Of those they listed in the article, I'd have to say Clive Owen would've been my choice.

i think the producers of James Bond are morons.
Pierce Brosnan was an excellent James Bond.
much better IMO than George Lazenby, Roger Moore & Timothy Dalton.
just nearly equalled Sean Connery.
(did i miss anyone?)

from the names listed in that article, my first choice would've been Clive Owen, then Hugh Jackman.

I can't see him as Bond.

Statham would of been interesting, but they probably wanted someone with more hair. Jude Law is too skinny/girly/wussy looking. Ewan McGregor would of been OK too.

Christian Bale would of been good, he could of been Bat-Bond. I don't think he would of jumped into another commercial role.

He just doesn't look like a Bond...

Well, we'll see how the movies are when the time comes.

Frankly I think he looks more like a Bond villain than a James Bond.

He'd fit wonderfully in a Batman film.

I liked Pierce Brosnan a lot.The new guy doesn't seem like a Bond to me.
Clive Owen & Hugh Jakcman were much better choices than him.Lets see how he fares in the movies.

sean connery did the best bond, followed by brosnan
this new guy...no way....how does all the bonds with dark hair lose its signature appearance by dyeing their hair blonde??
unless the script for the next movie has something to do with "exploding/invisible/stealth/armor piercing/fire resistant/huge sex appeal to women" that changes the hair to BLONDE

Based on the choice, are they now going to rename the character to James Blond?

I know, that was uncalled for.

Great...this is going to be worse than Timothy Dalton.

Brosnan was a very good Bond. I like Connery as well, but I also think Roger Moore's deadpan style was excellent, and enjoyed watching him. I was just getting back to enjoying Bond, and Brosnan goes bye-bye. I think this is going to be a big mistake.

P.S. Despite my enjoyment of "Die Another Day", I think CGI stunts in a Bond film is sacrilege.

I probably liked Connery the most, followed by Moore and Brosnan.
Dalton was okay, but not memorable, compared to the others, IMO.

I hadn't even heard of Daniel Craig before this, so I can't comment on how i think he will be.
I just checked imdb.com and I indeed haven't seen any of the movies he acted in.
