Nice mountains in the background, they must offer a pretty view from on top. Do the mountains encircle the city trapping smog?

Looks like downtown Los Angeles.

Exavtly, the city is a valley surrounded by mountains so smog is trapped. On days like this you can see the Popo volcan.
