a tinny and metalic sound

hi
i got these 2 new items....a soundcard and a preamp.the preamp is by rolls and the soundcard is by c-media..anyway i recorded a tune into audacity with new souncard and preamp and when i played it back it sounded a little tinny and
matalic.what would cause this and what can be done to fix it?its the only time it happened..thanks.

Sounds like you are not using RIAA equalization. The preamp should do this if it is made for records.

no this preamp already has riaa...its built into it...it only happenes with this one tune.thanks.
