im having problems with xp which came with my dell demension 1100 computer.xp developed some issues and i want to perform a uninstall reinstall of xp...how do i start it?is there an article somewhere about it?thanks.
No need to uninstall... just make sure during the install you blank your hard drive (delete your partitions... do make sure your data is backed up)... during the install it should prompt you with some partition information and there you can delete your existing windows partition and press enter to install it to the HDD.
I've done repair install before, they usually work fine after words though you may have to manually tweak and add things.it depends on how easily you can get everything back the way you want it. If it's going to be a huge hassle and some things you just wont get back try a repair first. When I upgraded to win7 I got a new to me 400 gig and installed it fresh on that and kept my old drive as the new secondary slave in case something didn't work out.
very well.....i thought id have a problem doing it but it wasnt so hard.....when i finally got it installed i noted that the installation even took out all my drivers for everything.......so i had to reinstall them to.......now everythings ok.thanks.
