It's not always a Lite-On, Verbatim has used Aopen before as well. They many be using a Benq drive, which I believe they have used before.

Possible, the ones I encountered were always Lite-Ons tho.

I got that same $19.99, amir, Verbatim deal at Best Buy a month ago. Has a LiteOn sticker on the chassis. But who knows what the Fry's is.

I think that the walk-in stores are run as a separate business from the online store. Whereas, OfficeMax, Best Buy, etc., are all one business entity where you can buy either way.
