CDRLabs has taken a look at MSI's new 52/24/52 CD-RW drive, the CR52-A2. Featuring some of the fastest speeds currently available, the CR52-A2 reads and writes at 52x and is the first drive from MSI to rewrite at 24x. Of course, MSI's new drive isn't just about speed. This budget priced drive also has features like BURN-Proof buffer underrun protection and technologies like EXACT-Rec and ROPC. In this review we take a look at some of the features found on the CR52-A2 and then put it up against some of the 52x writers from the competition. Does the CR52-A2 deliver the features and performance you'd expect from a company like MSI? You'll have to check out the review to find out.

Hello!

This writer is not the Best, but also not the worst.

But i heard, that the OptoRite/MSI have problems with different media; they sometimes crash when it burns the LeadOut

I saw that a few times with Optorite's 48x writer, but not this one.

Yes so it seems to be based on a Sanyo chipset! Just looking at the fact that it can't burn Safedisc 2.51+ discs with EFM correctly, it must use a Sanyo chipset! Gotta get this one! :)
