Hi,

I'm interested in a few models, including the LG GCE-8520B (52/24/52) which seems to be remarked as a relatively quiet unit.

Ian's review showed that this unit doesn't read the Lead-Out section of the CD.

Does someone know (or has experienced) what problems or limitations this would cause ?

In my case it reads everything no limitations, even Lead out i've had no problems at all.
Just upgrade with new firmware and BAM! everythings perfect even reading which is now at 52x, not like in 1.00 firmware only 40x.

If it's not too much too ask, could you tell me what firmware version you upgraded to, and a pointer to where I could eventually find it ?

For now , there is only one firmware update to the GCE-8520B and it is to version 1.04. You can find it here:
