Has anyone tried them yet? These are the 1st 52x rated discs I've seen on a store shelf.

I've seen TDK having varying results with the LTR-52246S drive.

i wonder if the verbatim 52x are good quality

Hmmm...the TDK 40x discs here have the same ATIP.

Works good at 52x at the end of the disc

BTW, the serial no on one of my discs is L406JS.... I read on Taiwanese forums the prefix ("L") represnets the plant and JS represents the dye used. They mention latest Ritek phtalocyanine discs use RS dye

Hi Spazmogen--I got one of those TDK 52X CD-R discs with my TDK 5200B rebadged LiteOn LTR-52246S. Of course, it has the same ATIP and capacity reported by Ian. When burned @52X on my rebadged LiteOn LTR-52246S, I had the following results:

C1 Min: 0 Max: 10 Ave:0.801
C2 Min: 0 Max: 0 Ave:0.000

From what I've seen, that's not bad for a Ritek made disc. It's not TY or Verbatim/Mitsubishi Chemical Super Azo quality, but its certainly passable. Even though the quality of these appears to be OK, I would stick with the Fuji 48X TY CD-Rs or the Verbatim DataLifePlus Super Azo 52X CD-Rs (pictured above) if you wanted to burn @52X. These TYs and Verbatims are just much better, if you ask me. Especially the TY media--it is the best.

I forgot to mention one thing--the largest concentration of my C1 errors with the TDK 52X disc I have is at the end of the disc. I burned 73 minute 54 second of data onto that TDK 52X disc that had the C1 rate of Max = 10, Ave: 0.801.

RS? I thought that indicated Ricoh dye?

The S is generally not any indicator of dye type; it's the L (or J or H etc) which determines the type of disc.

I'd be very surprised if the latest discs were type R. Strange that
