Some Verbatim drives are re-badged Lite-Ons; others are AOpen or ASUS (I think). What information do you need?

I just got a Verbatim VBT522452X (as it says on the label). It is a regular old Lite-ON LTR-52246S with the 6S0A firmware in an external USB 2.0 case...

I have a Verbatim model VBT522452A and it is a LiteOn . I purchased it in early February, so far I have been very pleased with it's performance in burning CD's. I have been converting old LP's to CD-r's and so far have not had one coaster. Have used various different brands of CD-R's with no problems. However, the other day I tried to read an old CD-RW data disc that was written by Adapted DirectCD and nothing happened no data appeared and was unable to access the disc with Windows Explorer. Went to Direct CD and it did not list the Drive E, I have another old burner an HP 9510 and it was recognised as Drive F and it reads the CD-RW just fine. If anyone can help with the CD-RW problem I would appreciate any help.
