How to install a CDRW drive

Hi - I just bought a Buslink 52x24x52 internal CDRW drive - Unfortunately, the instructions which came with the drive were pretty confusing. I am pretty much a novice when it comes to tinkering around with hardware... I have a computer with a CDROM installed and an empty bay.

-I just wanted to know if there are any good links with detailed instructions on how to install an internal IDE drive.

-Also, should I remove my old CDROM drive or just keep it? Are there any advantages to having both installed?

Thanks a lot!

Here's two sources you can look over. The second one is a manual from TDK, but the hardware installation procedures are the same. Just don't follow the software installation steps.

If you have any addition questions, feel free to ask.

I'd keep the original CD-ROM both for disc-to-disc copying and for general reading. In my newest desktop PC, I keep both a CD-ROM for reading and a CD-RW which I use mostly for burning.
