A couple weeks ago I was doing some backups with my Liteon 40x when I scooted closer to the desk,, BAMM!. I knee'd the open drive tray and broke it. After a few emails and phone calls, I find my waranty was up and Liteon was giving me the runaround. So I buy a new MSI 52x24x52 CR52-A2 and this thing smokes out a backup in 2:32 with nero. That's what I'm talking about.
Only one problem, CDRwin does not recognize it. "No supported device found"

Anyone have a clue

Check the list of supported devices.

It lists the MSI MS8352 and MS8352S so it should be supported.

If you haven't downloaded the latest version, do that.

I recently bought a msi cr52-a2 and when i installed nero to start burning rightaway, it doen't recognize my cd burner.

what's worng??? what version of nero did you guys used for testing???

im using: Nero v. 5.9.4 bundled, win xp pro

So, you knowingly did physical damage to the drive.... your warranty period had passed, but you say Lite-On was giving you the "runaround"? Once the warranty is up, they really aren't under obligation to even talk to you about the problem you realize...... And the fact that you caused the damage, invalidates the "usual wear and tear" part of most warranties, and voids all warranty claims usually.

The purpose of a waarnty is to also limit the manufacturers cost by setting a cutoff point as to when services and replacement can be made. Otherwise people could just drive over the unit in their truck for fun and keep mailing them back for new ones.
