Liteon under 2k troubles

hello, i've got a liteon ltr-52246S and with windows 2000 i'm having some weird problems. i usually use nero and with xp it worked fine, but since i reinstalled it on 2k, i get this problem where i start writting a cd and my computer grinds to a halt. the buffer fills and empties its self constantly. these are all cd's made from files off the hard drive, not disc to disc copies. i've upgraded the firmware but the drivers are listed as MS ones from 99 and i'm not given an option to enable dma (is this 2k or the drivers?)

any help would be greatly appreciated.

-matt

(additionally, the hard drive and cdr are on separate ide channels. under xp they were on the same, but i was under the impression separating them was benneficial.)

ok, sorry, i'm a goon. for some reason windows did me a favor and disabled dma on my secondary ide channel.

ahhh, cd's in under two and a half minutes again. much better.

don't blame yourself! Finding the DMA settings on Win2K is a pain, at best! I'm glad to hear it's working for you now! :D
