Can't read a data CD created with Roxio's Easy CD Creator 5

I created a data CD on a CD-R with Easy CD Creator 5. When I try to access the cd on my other computer I get the message: "D:\ is not accessible. The device in not ready". I know its not the drive because I can access and read other cds with it. So I must be doing something wrong when I'm creating the CD. I made sure I chose the option to close the cd so it is readable on any other computer. I even got the message "Writing information for standard CD-rom access" when I ejected the CD after writing to it. I checked the properties of CDs that I am able to access and noticed the file system is CDFS. The CDs that I tried to create have a file system of CDUDF or UDFRDR (I have no idea how I got different file systems). My CD-RW is a Sony CRX140E. The drive I'm trying to read the CDs on is a Toshiba XM-5502TA. I've wasted a half dozen CDs already. I hope its something simple I'm missing. Any help would be appreciated.

Read the thread at screwy roxio. The problem is very similar to yours, although you are experiencing the problem on a different computer.

You have used DirectCD, not Easy CD Creator 5 if the discs that you have created are using the UDF file system. Try the advice the other thread and let us know the results. Your 6x Toshiba XM-5502TA CD-ROM is very old and may be contributing to the problem.
