1) The R604 version will not support Mt Rainier. Samsung have claimed a mistake and said that the hardware does not support Mt Rainier.

2)2X? I don't know, email Samsung and ask them, or check the specifications http://www.samsungodd.com/eng/

3) No idea. Maybe your media was bad? Verbatim DLP cdrs and CDRWs are normally very good.

ps: Did you use Babelfish? :o

Welcome to CDRLabs, jm! :D

Your drive doesn't support Mt. Rainier with your current firmware. See this thread for details.

2x CD-RW discs probably won't work. I have heard that some other recent drives won't support media older than 4x. It would be worthwhile to read the data off your old discs and write it to some new ones.

I haven't heard of any compatibility problems with this drive and Verbatim 10x CD-RW media, but I suppose it's a possibility. Can you try a different brand and see if the errors go away?

I hope that helped! :D
