Posted: Fri May 23, 2003 12:13 pmMan I'm starting to hate ASUS. While they are a great company they are starting to be everywhere. From cdrws, video cards, mobos, pdas etc ... They weren't satisfied with their mobo company and started another one ASRock. Are they trying to be the next Microsoft ( Hardware version )?
Posted: Sat May 24, 2003 6:41 amI bought the Verbatim a week or so ago at BB (when they had the $19.99 deal) and it was a Liteon. The others on the shelf at the time were also, as I know others who bought from the same store. They've restocked the shelves since and I wonder if they are now Asus?

If it has 12 characters (all numbers), it's a Lite-on. If it has 10 characters,
it most likely will be an ASUS.
