You'll probably have to wait a month until someone gets review unit and tested it.

Only a 2MB buffer? What kind of junk are they trying to sell?

I wish that they would use 8MB, but 2MB works fine for my 48x drives (in an Athlon 1.2GHz PC).

At 40x plus, it makes absolutely no difference whether you have 8MB or 2 MB buffer, except in the price.

Yeah, I thought of that, too. 24x drives have been around for ages, and the 24x media hasn't been common for too long.

In Canada, you still can't buy 24x RW discs. Not even the crappy memorex ones.

BTW: Well done Ian. You've always been a "man of your word". If he says he'll do something, he does it.

I'm looking forward to the full review.

So for the first time Lite-on writers will write 24X using P-CAV?

Nice..

You think it sould be possible to overclock the 52X24X into the new 52X32X?
Or does the number '7' in the model name already answers that?

7S firmwares are not compatible with 6S drives as expected. I believe that 6K drives might also rewrite in P-CAV at 24X, but I'm not sure...

24x P-CAV

Looks to me like a significantly faster burn campared to my 6S.
