Today we take a look at LG's new combination CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive, the GCC-4480B. The GCC-4480B is one of the fastest combo drives currently available. It reads and writes at 48x, rewrites at 24x and reads DVD's at a blazing 16x. The GCC-4480B also includes features like LG's Super Link buffer underrun protection.

In this review we take a look at some of the features found on the GCC-4480B and then see how it performs. Does LG's new combo drive have what it takes to top the Samsung SM-348B? You'll have to check out the review to find out.

Wow, that´s what I wanted to ask you. I hope, the review of the Samsung is soon?

I look for a Combo, that read´s DVD+-R/RW fast, and it must have a good CD-writing quality

I have this combo drive and Nero reports the LG as being Mt. Rainier compatible.

I know the LG website doesn't list it, but my LG manual does.

I'm using 1.00. There is a 1.02 firmware out but I haven't tried it.

On page 2 of the manual under "Features", it says that it supports Mt. Rainier.

Nero Infotool does report that as well, but my Mt. Rainier LiteON 52/24/52 is also attached as well.

I have an OEM version if that helps.

I also have a retail LG4480B and Nero InfoTool also reports it as Mt Rnr compatible (firmware reported as 1.00).
MtRainier support is clearly printed on the front of the retail box (along with "SuperLink" and "Fail-free writing").
I bought it a month ago at MediaMarkt in Spain.
