Does your PlexTools Pro save its preferences properly?

I have trouble making my PlexTools Pro save its preferences after I've changed them.

I have selected the "save settings on exit".

I have tried to clear registry.

I have tried to re-apply all settings.

I have uninstalled and re-installed PlexTools Pro

I have installed as an ordinary user and administrator.

I have tried my Plextor Premium both as slave and as master.

I have manually cleared the registry of all PlexTools files and re-installed.

Nothing works. I can't make the preferences save. Every single time I click on C1/C2 testing, I have to go through the warning dialogs. Clicking on "Don't show this window again" does not work. I have to manually set all the test parameters every time, because they will not save.

Anybody else have this problem?

I have already tried asking for help at CD Freaks and at Plextor EU support, but nobody's found me anything of help yet (it seems).

Any ideas?

regards,
Halcyon

Halc and robertb,

The settings that I have changed on my Win98SE box seem to be sticking, but I am not using a Plextor Premium and so don't have access to the Q-Check tests.

It seems that the unsticky preference problems that you are experiencing are in the Q-Check section. Does the rest of the program retain settings properly? It seems that the program has two parts, the main section and Q-Check which works only with the Plextor Premium. From your reports, this seems to be a bug in which PlexTools hasn't extended the save settings option to the Q-Check section. If you have reported it to Plextor, they should fix it in a later release.

None of my Plextools Pro preferences stick. In none of the sections of the program preference stick. It's not just limited to C1/C2 section. I have reported this to Plextor Europe, but have not heard back from them.

Try Plextor America. I got a reply from them within a few hours when I emailed them before.

I got a response from Plextor Belgium (EU).

The answer was (I'm paraphrasing):

The settings cannot be saved, because they are reset at
each start of Plextools Pro.

That's like a catch-22! What a laugh riot! :)

The answer was in regard to some specific Plextools Pro settings that refuse to save.

It appears that they cannot be saved on any system and my system is no exception.
