Here of course I mean how to play a music CD in lite-on cd-rw drives(or any other cd-rw driver without a "play" button) without using the sound card.

Traditionally, if the drive has a "play" button, then we can listen to the CD with the headset through the headset jack on the front panel of the drive,
and without using the sound card.

But now many drives don't have the "play" button, can I still do that?

No , i don't think there is a trick to bypass the sound card/integrated audio when there is no play button .

Of course.
You only have to play the CD with any player in analog mode.

If you play it digitally, then there's no sound from the analog connections (sound card and headphones).

just look for a CD player program that does the CD playing in analog mode... the winNT/2k and win98/95/win3.1 CD players all did this, perhaps you can copy one of these to your current computer if you don't use any of the listed operating systems.

Also, winamp2.x can do this...
