burn complete not coming up

I have a sony dru500 usb2 and a liteon ide combo drive it does not mater which recorder I use or software like Nero or alcohol but when the disk comes to 100 % the time just keeps going and the burn complete never comes up so I have to ALT CTRL and DEL to end the program but when I try the disks they all work fine does anyone know a reason for this
I have
win xp home sp1
xp3000+
abit nf7-s mobo
1 gig of ram
sony dru500 ext
lition combo 48x24x48x16
