Plextor Premium + Fuji 48X = 52X Writing?

I have a Plextor Premium on the way, and I was wondering whether my stock of Fuji 48X will burn at the maximum speed of 52X. Has anyone personally experienced this? If so, please share your thoughts and advice, because Best Buy is having a 40% off all Fuji stuff! It’s time to stock up like mad (I hope the Premium will be my last CD burner ever, so I wanna get LOTS of blanks now while they are cheap and easily available). Thanks for the help. 8)

Owning the most Premium drives as anyone on this forum (2). I will awnser this question. Sadly, the awnser is that it will NOT write to this media at 52x.

Using Nero and PoweRec, on full disk burns 700MB, PoweRec will limit the media to 32x or 40x. I would like to add though, that the disk does get to roughly 45-48x and then go down, so the burns are still faster than most drives out there.

With 650MB of data, PoweRec limited me to 40x with this media. The burn did complete in only 2 minutes and 32 seconds though, this being because the drive got to 45-48x before being clocked down.

2 minutes and 32 seconds is very fast, and, the quality of the burns and of the drive itself is excellent.

Well, I've probably used it the most out of anyone here, and I keep supporting it in many threads, so I should know what I'm talking about, and be able to awnser questions about it. So, yeah, I would say it does make me the expert on the Premium in these forums.

It doesn't matter whether I know what I talking about, or not. Just as long as I don't argue with myself.

to support aviationwiz's findings, not even my 52x certified Fuji (TY made) burns at 52x on my Plex Premium. It burns at 52x on my LiteON 48246s (using 52246s firmware) though.

Halc,
Where did you find certified 52X Fuji? I thought they were sill stuck at 48X, as that is all I have seen anywhere around here or on the Internet. It does suck that even the 52X Fujis won't burn at max speed on the Premium, but perhaps a firmware update will provide higher speeds with my favorite Fujis. I still got my 50-pack 48X Fujis for under $10 so I'm happy! :)
