More (dumb and VERY unsafe) tests on how to make CD-R's explode. Check out the video clips too.

CDs exploading is a very serious phenomenon, one which I researched very carefully when I first started getting into the industry. I hadn't come across this article before, but the note at the bottom regarding the PSX CD that exploded in the 52x CD-ROM is worth looking at.

There have been several documented cases of CDs exploding when used in highspeed CD-ROM drives. Most of these cases happened to involve a 52x AOpen CD-ROM drive (at least the ones I read about did).... needless to say I promptly sold my 56x AOpen CD-ROM

The bottom line is that no CD should explode at 52x or 56x even, a properly working drive, and a properly balanced disc should be able to be read at those speeds without any danger.

Just my 2 cents :D
