I'm using the LTR-48246S, have been for about 8 months. Went through about half a stack of Imation CDs (a usual brand), and nero started hanging on lead-in, hangs in blindwrite and fireburner too.

Is this happening only with 1 CD-R, or with all of them?

Have you tried another brand of CD-Rs?

It happend on about 7 or 8 CDs in the spindle as I trying to pinpoint what the hell was going wrong. I was using Imation, and I had been for a while (they were always cheap heh), and just got a pack of Fuji's and it worked perfect. Well, for now at least.

on a side note: Is it normal for burners to not like certain brands of CDs?

Glad to hear that the drive is working right with the Fuji discs.

It is normal for burners to like or dislike certain brands of CDs, but I've never heard of such problems with Imation before. It is possible that you have a bad batch of Imation discs.

It's also normal for a spindle of discs to contain some good and some bad discs.

I've had mixed experience with Imation CD-R's on my 48X Lite-On as well.

well the only reason I didn't think it was just a bad batch of discs was I burned them on another computer. and they all worked fine. but that was a Creative Labs RW. so maybe it was a bad batch specific to LiteOn

*shrug*

Oh well. Thanks guys.
