I did some tests and the TY media (Plextor branded) on LG4480b was a bit of a disappointment:

Plextor spindle bulk 48x 700Mb

Has anybody else had good results with TY on LG4480b?

Very strange... Have you tried more than one disc form this spindle?

TY media on LG4480b
