You can find the latest firmware for all Lite-On drives (including the 52246S and 52327S) here.

Also try this direct link to the QS09, the latest FW update for the said drive.
Many have updated and afaik so far no problems have been reported.

You're welcome. :D

I did notice that my burn quality got better when I upgraded from QS08 (original on my drive) to QS09.

Harrier:

I particularly noticed the difference on 40x CMC media. Check my post here for some examples. The quality did seem worse on the Philips 48x media, though. :(

I just tried QS0A, but I like QS09 better.

It limited my CMC 40x and 48x discs to 40x (they burned fine at 52x before).

The recording quality with TDK (Ritek) 40x discs at 52x wasn't as good as the same media and speed combination had been with QS09. In addition, SMART-BURN slowed the speed at the very end of the burn with the TDK discs, which it hadn't done with QS09.

Because of these changes, I reverted back to QS09.

Edit: I just noticed; congrats on 100 post, Tidus! :D

Thanx CDRecorder .

BTW , Is QS0A an official firmware ? I can't find anything about it on Liteon's site . On Liteon's site they only have QS09 .

Just posted some tests with QS0A here.

You're welcome, Tidus. I think the QS0A firmware is a "leaked" version that hasn't been officially released yet, but it may very well be released in a few weeks. The same thing happened when QS09 was released; it was "leaked" a few weeks before it showed up on the Lite-On web site.

Thanks for posting those tests, Rdgrimes! It was interesting to see how burn quality was affected.

One interesting observation that I have is that I have some 40x TDK (Ritek) media that I bought last year that burns at 52x in the LTR-52327S with Smart-Burn on. Smart-Burn never engaged when burning those discs with QS09, but Smart-Burn limited the speed at the very end of the burn (about 1 second before the burn completed, burning a completely full disc) with QS0A, and the writing quality over the entire disc was less good.

Edit: I scanned all of the discs in my LTR-48125W (VS0D) at 40x.

The recording quality of my Philips 12x CD-RW discs got much better with QS0A, so I eventually decided to keep QS0A. It's CD-R burns are good, too.
