I really like the 52327S; it's writing quality has been quite good with just about every kind of disc that I've tried. Today, I burned a Fuji (TY) 48x disc at 52x (full 80 mins of data), and I got these results when I scanned it at 52x on the 52327S:

C1: 6 Max, 920 Total, 0.191 Average.
C2: 0

The only thing about it that I don't like is that old CMC media (Imation 16x, Imation 32x, Philips 40x) is limited to 24x, and some newer CMC media (Spin-X 40x, Philips 48x, some Imation 48x) is limited to 40x. Interestingly, some Imation 48x media works at 52x.

I wish I had some 32x CD-RW media... The fastest CD-RW I have is 24x, and I only have one of those (the one that came with the 52327S).

I've got 2 of these babies, and also installed one in a friend's PC. Am excited to try it out.

My 2 are sitting in the closet waiting for my 12x10x32 Lite-On to die!!

:D

How about you go 'accidently flash it dead' and then tell us how you like it.

My standard suggestion for cases like this is a strategically placed glass of cola.

Do you mean that the cupholder might break?

Seriously, I am sure that there are people who could use your old Lite-On 12x drive; no need to break it or wait for it to die. :)

LOL. I'll let you guys know when I break open the 52X and try it out. Hopefully pretty soon. My lil girl has been occupying more time than I have been able to allocate to the cd burning lately :P
