Samsung SW-252B (Can you pro's teach me somethings!)

After using a LG 8080B (A reliable and good writer in my experience) for over 2 years, I decided to buy a CD-RW.

I brought the SW-252B for £20 and am very happy at being brought up to date in the world of writing speeds. :P

I build PC's in my spare time and for friends so I ain't thick at all! - Though I think I am at somethings! - Like now.

I hear that this CDRW has a buffer of 8192 KB. Yet through my Nero (ver 6.0.0.0) I get this Image

I have also had 3 CD's go "WEIRD" on me. When I select "copy a CD" and select the source as my LG, and then the target as the SW-252B, at the end of the CD it says "BURN PROCESS FAILED / BUFFER UNDERRUN" But yet my CD's work, only when they get to the last track they stick at the end. As if the lead out wasn't written. i.e. "TRACK 19 > TIME: 5:04" and rather than just stopping it just stick at 5:04, I have to stop the CD myself.

Sorry for ranting, but help me! - If you can!

Thanks!

Take a look at my previous posts on this model.

Looks like you got the OEM version - which just has a 2mb cache - only the boxed retail version has the 8mb cache. Though neither makes a difference since there is a problem with the current firmware (I've made Samsung aware of this as well).

I will usually work fine, IF you burn at lower speeds (24-40).
