Fuji is no longer made by TY, they've switched to some taiwanese crap, damn them to hell!. Does anyone know of another commercial brand that's made by TY? I haven't been able to find one. For reference I am in the southwest U.S.

I don't want to spend more than $25 per 100 and I prefer not to buy over the internet.

Just because Fuji media is no longer TY doesn't make it terrible; however, the main reason that I used to like Fuji was because it was made by TY.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any other media that you will find in stores that is made by TY. :cry:

I have some 40x Memorex discs (from last year) that were made by TY, but Memorex apparently doesn't sell TY anymore, either.

I know the 40X certified Maxell CD-R Pro (note the word *Pro*, it is not the regular Ritek made Maxell CD-Rs) are TY made. Maxell has released a new 48X certified version of the Maxell CD-R Pro (see www.maxell.com), but I'm uncertain as to whether or not the 48X version is TY because I haven't tried it. Since all previous Maxell CD-R Pro CD-Rs were TY, the new 48X ones probably are TYs, but I don't know for sure. The old 40X TY Maxell CD-R Pros did overclock nicely to 48X without any issues, and would probably overclock to 52X without any problems. The only problem with the Maxell CD-R Pro discs is that they are pricey. The Maxell CD-R Pro discs are sold at Staples, Walmart, and Office Depot.

I am always looking for TY. I read that FUJI was gonna use someone else so I went to BEST BUY and cleaned up. They were 4.99 (after MIR) for 50Pk spindles. I checked em all......Made in Japan and made by TY.

Yes it is too bad I can't order any of their products from Canada. They require a wire transfer. Oh well thanks anyways.

you can buy Taiyo Yuden CD-Rs from www.precisionsound.com if you live in Canada (they have offices all over Canada), however you will be charged the CD levy ($0.21 per CD-R).

i never had a chance to try the TY media, they do sell maxell's disk in the supermarket would they be TY media, they are a bit more expensive than verbatim,tdk etc.
