I know the 40X certified Maxell CD-R Pro (note the word *Pro*, it is not the regular Ritek made Maxell CD-Rs) are TY made. Maxell has released a new 48X certified version of the Maxell CD-R Pro (see
www.maxell.com), but I'm uncertain as to whether or not the 48X version is TY because I haven't tried it. Since all previous Maxell CD-R Pro CD-Rs were TY, the new 48X ones probably are TYs, but I don't know for sure. The old 40X TY Maxell CD-R Pros did overclock nicely to 48X without any issues, and would probably overclock to 52X without any problems. The only problem with the Maxell CD-R Pro discs is that they are pricey. The Maxell CD-R Pro discs are sold at Staples, Walmart, and Office Depot.
