Best CDRW/DVD Combo Drive

I am looking to get a good quality CDRW/DVD Combo drive.

I was wanting around 16x DVD Read speeds and hopefully 48x/52x CD-R write speeds.

I am going to use the drive to burn normal CD-Rs, not overburned, and also using it along with DVD-XCopy to backup my DVDs. So I would like one that reads DVDs at a decent speed.

I was either looking at:
    Lite On 48x24x48x16 CDROM/CDRW/DVD Combo Drive LTC-48161H
    LG ELECTRONICS DVD COMBO 52X24X52 CD-RW/ 16X DVD-ROM, MODEL GCC-4520B
    CDRW/DVD Combo Drive 8mb Cache, Model SM-352B

Any advice would be helpful, and if there is a better drive that I did not list, please let me know!

Thanks!

Hello!

I vote for the LG GCC 4520. I had some LG-drives and can recommend LG.

A friend have the GCC 4480 and he like it ;)

I, too, would recommend the LG GCC-4480 or 4520. I would not recommend the Samsung SM-352B if you intend to use DVD-RW or DVD+RW discs as the drive has questionable compatibility with both (read the review here). It supports DVD-/+R discs just fine. As an alternative, I would recommend the Samsung SM-348B. Keep in mind that it reads DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW discs at only 6X.

The LG GCC-4480 reads DVD-Video, DVD+R/RW, and DVD-R/RW discs at only 6X. If you are looking for high reading speeds across the board, then this may not be the drive for you. There is no review of the GCC-4520 on CDRLabs, but you may be able to find one on another site. A simple search on Google should return something. The 4520 may read DVD-Video, DVD+R/RW, and DVD-R/RW discs faster, so it's worth finding a review.
