What's the difference with QS0C which leaked before QS0B became available?

I've bought some Creation Cdrs.
They seem to be Plasmon and very bad quality.



All the burns had C2 errors.
All.
Even when using QS0C and the other leaked firmware.

Media was burned at DAO 16X with data.

I've done several tests (I still haven't posted them, but I'll do that soon); QS0B seems noticibly better than QS0C as far as writing quality is concerned. I now have both of my 52327S drives at QS0B.

What about RW quality? QS0C made some big improvements there, anybody try it on QS0B?

The recording quality on my Philips 12x CD-RW discs with QS0B seems very good!

BTW, I've finally posted my results at CD Freaks in the media forum, including the CD-RW disc. Unfortunately, I don't have any ultra-speed RW media to test with other than the Lite-On bundled one.

Yes; get a binary of QS0B and flash it with MTKWinFlash or another flash program. Or, you could use FlashFix to patch the QS0B installer so that it will allow you to flash anyway.

I'm looking forward to seeing your Ultra-Speed RW tests; I know QS0B works well with my 12x CMC CD-RW discs, but I don't have any Ultra-Speed discs other than the bundled Lite-On one.

as you can see, qs0c is an OMFG factor scale on 10, either qs0c is not good at cdrw ultra speed or th everbatim media I used is a bit cheese!

Lets move onto qs0b...

Clearly qs0b is the winner, much lower c1 rate and most importantly NO c2 errors, quite an amazing jump in quality terms here

In the media compatability thread I posted the qs0c cdrw 12x on my medianca 700MB discs, Here is an update using qs0b firmware, quiet happy with these discs now, knowing that the previous results were because of the firmware!



What can I say, Lite-On did something special in qs0b, its so far superior to qs09 and qs0c in every way!

Nice result! I agree; I think that I haven't seen one result yet where QS0C was better than QS0B.

BTW, do you know who made those Medianca 12x discs?

Nice results on those 24X HP-TY discs, CDRecorder. Better than QS0C. I'm posting them @ cdfreaks in a while.

On my drive, I'm seeing little, if any, difference between QS0B and QS0C on RW media.

I went to liteon's page and there's nothing similar to it. The latest firmware they have is QS09.

It gets better at 24X.
It's ashame that this one is the last cdr left.
QS0B makes them a better media than i thought they were in the first place.

I've checked TY and Prodisc CDR at full speed burn and scan, I see no difference between 0B and 0C that's worth mentioning. As always, different drives will behave differently with a given firmware.

Both of these firmwares are just awesome. IMHO, the 52327S is now far and away the fastest and highest burn quality drive at any price. Go LiteOn!
