Please help, I recently upgraded from ME to XP. In doing so, I learned that the software that came w/my computer Easy CD creater does not work w/XP. I uninstalled the ECDC but when my computer boot up I get the following error "Windows did not start a related device driver." In addition to this I got a new CD burner that came with Nero burner software, but I am unable to install this...sorry for the long post...this is driving me CRAZZZZZZZZZZY.

Welcome to CDRLabs! :D

Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to remove ECDC; which version did you have before the upgrade?

Also, what is happening when you try to install Nero?

You can download the Roxizap utility to clean Easy CD Creator out. Note that if you have other Adaptec/Roxio programs, like GoBack, installed they will be removed also.

Thank you for the responses..I believe it was easy cd creator 4, It came installed when I got my computer like 3 years ago. When I was installing Nero it said that I had an old version of it and then the installation stopped.I will try to add the Roxiozap an see if that helps!!

I just used the roxiozap and it seems to have helped my driver issue, I still can't load Nero, it says I have an older version but I don't have Nero on this computer. Again, thanks for all of the help...After working on this for weeks, it feels good to get results

Are you trying to install Nero 5.5 or 6.0? You might also want to try running the Nero Clean Tool on your system to make sure that Nero is not installed.
