Firstly Hello :)

My burner will only allow me to burn at X2, although it is 32X/10X/40X. My burner appears as "Generic CRD-BP1600P" in the Device manager, and came with my evesham system. It previously burn't perfectly, and I have tried numerous media (currently halfway through a spindle of 50 that previuosly burnt at 32X fine). I belive the problems started with the install/uninstall of CDRWIN.

I have now done a fresh reinstall and have exactly the same problem. I have enabled DMA, Updated nero, run forceaspi, tried other burners, and am now totally stumped. I presume that this cdrw is actually a sanyo drive (http://www.digital-sanyo.com/BURN-Proof ... 1600p.html), and I wonder if I should flash my drive?

All the relavent info from Nero Info Tool is below

Any ideas.

TIA Melon

Generic CRD-BP1600P
Firmware 3.41
Write Speed 2X
DMA Enabled
M'soft IDE/ATAPI Port Driver 5.1.2600.1106[/url]

yep, sounds like a Sanyo. the link you gave is it.

are you sure you resolved the ASPI issues correctly?
i recommend using ForceASPI 1.7
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_s ... rcaspi.cfm
http://www.cyrus.troy.btinternet.co.uk/downloads.htm
use it to remove the current ASPI and then re-install a fresh ASPI 4.60.

Yep thats the one I have used. And I ran aspicheck to verify that they are instlaled and working ok.

That shows all 4 installed and all version 4.6 (1021), and reports that ASPI is properly intalled and fully operational.

Do you think it would be a good idea to flash it with the latest sanyo bios?

i've no idea if it will help.
i don't think it can hurt to try.

i would suggest you check if the drive works in another computer.

Well it says the Firmware are not correct firmware version for selected drive, so I guess i won't be flashing it then.

I can;t find any info on firmware from the evesham site :( I will try to install it on another computer
