I get at least one buffer underun

when burning cds using nero 6.

System specs

Nf7-s Xp 2500
512 MB ram
2*80 gb WD JB drives running raid 0
Samsung 48*24*48*16 2meg drive

Anyone have any settings or things i can change to prevent this from happening

do you have DMA enabled?

try burning at a lower speed.
try using different (better?) media.
try using a different burning application.

see if any one of these suggestion helps and you manage to burn without "buffer underruns".

You should go back to the old nero, well that could be me cus i have a older computer

It would help to kinow what you are burning, the source of the data, and exactly what happens with the buffers during the burn.

have you tried more than one brand of blank discs? Which brand(s) have you tried?

Are you running any other apps in the background? Do you run other processes while cds are being burned?

Try this in Nero, File -> Preferences -> Ultra Buffer -> Manual Config and increase the data buffer size to about 50 MB. Additionally, as others suggested check with different media and try changing source location from current HDD to the other (hence you have two hdds).
