A pleasant surprise: eProformance 52x

I bought a 10 pack spindle of those, just out of curiosity - to try the quality.

And omg! K-Probe showeded an average of less than 0.5 C1 error! That's many times better than Verbatim DLP or MMore's I've been using till now. And the best thing is, whole stuff (10pcs spindle) cost me 2.7 euro! That's like almost as cheap as it can get.

Code: Select all
        Drive Type = CD-RW
         Disc Type = CDR (C-)
          Material = Phthalocyanine
           Lead In = 97:32:19
          Lead Out = 79:59:71
  Nominal Capacity = 702.82MB (79m 59s 71f/LBA:359846)
Manufacturer Maybe = Prodisc Technology Inc.
Smart-Burn Speed Limit = Wrt(48X),Rd(12X)

Next thing I'm gonna do is try rest of pack, then buy loads of these, and then try some Memorex and Digitex discs - found a store with some non usual to Lith media :) Too bad not that much of DVD media around.

Anyone heared anything about 4x Princo and/or 4x eProformance DVD+R's?

Wow, I'm glad they worked so well! What CD-RW drive did you use to burn them, and what firmware version do you have?

Thanks! BTW, I haven't had any actual experience with Princo DVD+Rs, but I've heard that they aren't very good.

Do you think you could come up with a photo of the package and/or the CD-R?

well, appears they weren't all that flawed afterall. quality varies greatly, even in same spindle. neither of them exceeds 1.5 c1 average though. some gave me c2's, but i suspect that to be caused by me forgetting to disable anti-virus software.

i bought some more cds:

fuji 52x's
memorex 48x's
digitex 48x's
tdk metallic 48x's
tdk d-view 48x's

as soon as i have something to burn i'll measure the quality, and report back :)

Bleh, I was going to post lots of K-Probe screenshots here, and stuff, but seems scanning results vary by enormous amounts - one scan cd gives average 3 C1s, next scan it shows 0.3. So bleh.

Just to sum up - Memorex and Digitex = BAD, TDK = very good but gave one coaster, Fuji 52 only burns at 16. ePro is still great, no coasters, good quality, CHEAP. Verbatim is kinda ok aswell.

All done on LTR-48246K.
