Id spend a little more and get the inkjet printable one. The unbranded ones will need a label put on them or they could be damaged on the front.

That text is from www.svp.co.uk

Excellent discs, but as jsmith says it's best to get them with some sort of protection, so the inkjet-printable ones are better.

Having said that, 25p per disc isn't bad for TY. The printable ones are 7p more, depends on how much abuse you're likely to give the discs really.

Rima has them and ships to Canada too.

So does NEATO. Neato just finished a Free shipping to Canada promo too. Where Neato now charges $44 USD to ship to Canada.

I bought 2 spindles of 100 from Rima last month.

If you're abusing your CDR's to the extent that you need some sort of "protection" on the back, the printable coating won't help you a bit. Likewise, a label is not a great idea on a disc that's spinning at 11000 RPM.
The best advantage to the printable coating is that you can write on it with a pencil or pen.

You think? OK, but that's not my experience. I've run tests on coasters, and found that printable CDRs will take quite hard bashings with screwdrivers etc which destroy "silvers". That coating does give you a little extra protection, although I acknowledge that the real answer is not to mistreat the discs in the first place. But an area where discs get a real bashing -- in the car (rattling around in the glovebox, ahem) -- is an area where I find I'm replacing printable discs far less often than unbrandeds.

I have to agree about the car.

I try and put them back into a jewel case, but sometimes just toss them on the seat if traffic is heavy.

I have had them trashed (scratched on the silver/generic tops) to the point they won't play in as little as 30 minutes.

I bought some Afterburner clear/glossy labels to help me out in the car.
