Plextor Premium stuck in PIO mode

As the title says, my Premium is stuck in PIO mode. I can't get it into DMA. I've tried the FAQ's, selecting "DMA if availible" and uninstalling the channel and having it load up after a restart. Nothing. My PX-708A and PX-116A are still in DMA though.

The Premium is Primary Master (or Primary Primary if you live in CA   , note: see old old thread)

The PX-116A is Primary Slave (or Primary Secondary  )

the PX-708A is Secondary Master (or Seconday Primary, )

Motherboard is a P4C800-E Dlx. and I just can't get it figured out as to why I can't get this burner into DMA. The jumper is set to "Master" which is where it should be. Any ideas? I'd give Plextor Tech Support a call, but they'll probably tell me I should use different media,  .

There is a jumper setting on the back of the Premium for various form of DMA, try setting it or not setting it...

also, check your bios options, perhaps there is a setting there that got messed up?

In addition to the Master, or take the jumper off of Master and put it on the DMA switch?
