Hi CDRLabs

I could only find Melody in my local town. My question is I have a 798 MB .avi file I would like to burn as Data onto a 90min cd-r.. would this fit? or will I need a 99min cd-r?

Becoz I dont know how to make an SVCD. This is why I am burning in Data Mode. Any advice would be helpful.

Cheers!

Overburn

A couple of weeks ago I was making a disc of songs that just hit 80 minutes, and my software (Nero 5.?) provided a "failed" message stating that the disc I was using did not provide enought room. I was about ready to ask my wife which song she wanted to delete when I thought I remembered something about overburning. I went to Nero's help files, and learned I could overburn up to 99 minutes ("theoretically"). Nero tells you how to adust your software settings. It also warns you that not only might your buner not be capable of overburning, but also that this could damage the burner (although, unlikely), depending on its capabilities. I set my max burn to 82 minutes, and from there I was able to burn normally. So, just adjust your software settings and give it a try with the 90 minute discs you already have.

You could try burning the file as data CD.Or you can convert the same to SVCD format and then burn it as a SVCD.

See my review of Melody 90min CD-Rs:

Sadly, only tested on one drive, but that's all I had at the time

Just select the file and then run the simulation. No actual data will be written and you will know whether the file will fit on the disc.
