Hey. Nice to see an Iraqi here.. hope everything is okay there? hswahab, typing in ALL CAPS is considered to be shouting and rude, so please punctuate and use lower case!

Hswahab, if you want someone who has actually used the LGE GCE-8525B on Red Hat 9 to report that the specific combination works in his or her actual experience, then you might be better off posting your question in a Linux forum. Most people around here use Windows.

As we said before, the GCE-8525B ought to work just fine. I did find one posting on another forum where a user reports using the GCE-8525B with cdrecord on Red Hat 9 to successfully burn backups. (He did run into a problem when he updated from Red Hat 9 to Fedora Core 1, but that was a permissions problem and didn't have anything to do with the drive itself).

As far as software goes, look for cdrecord, cdrdao, burncd, X-CdRoast, mkisofs, etc. They are Linux command line and GUI tools for burning CDs. Here is a little tutorial to get you started.

Sorry, that's all I can tell you since I don't use Linux.

Dear Indian friend bhairavp
Thanks for your message.Actually, the security situation over here is so miserable. But we,the ambitious people, believe ,in the middle of difficulty lies an opportunity.
