CDRLabs has taken a look at AOpen's new combination CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive, the COM5232/AAH. The COM5232 is one of the fastest combo drives currently available. It reads and writes CD's at 52x, rewrites at 32x and reads DVD's at speeds as high as 16x. This new combo drive also includes features like buffer underrun protection, support for the Mt. Rainier format and a set of interchangeable bezels.

In this review we'll take a look at some of the features found on the COM5232 and see how it compares to some of the combo drives from companies like MSI, Samsung and LG. Does AOpen's new drive have what it takes? You'll have to read the review to find out.

Nice drive, notable for its Mt. Ranier support (I haven't seen any in quite some time). With the market for dvd recorders so hot, I'm just not sure there are that many people that interested in a combo drive for their computer.

Great review.

Hello!

Nice review, Ian :)

Is the drive manufactured by AOpen itself? The 48x Com looks totally different and was made by BTC
