Removing stickon labels?

I would like to know some of the ways used to remove stick-on labels from CD's. I have several old, but hardly used CD-RW discs that have stick-on labels that I'd like to reclaim for further use and/or give to friends.

soak it in the cold water, and i think the label will peel off automatically

I think the disc is still usable, make sure it is completely dry

is the sticker big or small, it's better not to do anything, once stick it on, there's no 100% harmless way you can take it out, i suggest you just use a black felt tip pen to erase off the words you don't want

Have a look at this post.

The problem with CD's is that the information layer is very close to the surface of the label side. If the glue isn't watersoluble, there is little chance of removing a label without taking the reflecting layer off.

I do put labels on CDR's, but consider them permanent. CD-RW's are meant to be reused so I just put a number on them (with a sharpie od something similar) and keep track of the contents externally (if at all).
