Asus or Liteon

I'm making another duplicator for my church that'll copy 1 x 7. In the past I've used Lite On 52327S drives. I see they're discontinued, but can find a few here and there.

The new recommended drive from the duplicator controller company is the Asus 5232AS.

Anyone with experience with each be able to recommend one over the other?

One selling point for me would be the ability to update the firmware by powering it on with a cd / bin file in the drive...so I don't have to remove it from the duplicator to update the firmware. Will either of these drives do this?

thanks for your experience and knowledge.

Sean

Ian gave it a pretty good review:

The CRW-5232AS is not only their fastest drive to date, it ranks right up there as one of the better CD-RW drives we've tested.

As a writer, the CRW-5232AS is hard to beat. The drive flew through our writing tests in record time, beating our current champ, the LTR-52327S, by a couple of seconds.

I don't know of any stand-alone drive with this feature, although some set-top DVD players can do this.

Hello!

What about a LG 8526B? Relativly quite, fast and good writing quality.
