finalizing audio cd

i made an audio cd for my brother who lives all the way in australia. i think i forgot to finalize it, because he says it wont play.
so any suggestions on what he could do to get it to work if he
a) doesnt have a cd burning program, and
b) has a really bad 56k
i made the cd in roxio if thats any help. was gonna just send him another one but just wondering if you guys know of anything he can do over there to finalize it. thanks very much.
