Need recommendations fore getting MP3s to play in my car

I'm having problems with MP3s playing in my 2006 Mustang's CD/MP3 player. The owner's manual for the stereo doesn't give any media recommendations, but it does say not to use CDRs with more than 1 level of folders.

when I first got the car my Plasmon CDRs would play, and now they won't unless there is only a root directory on the CDR. Memorex (manufactured by CMC) won't play at all (it has 1 level of folders on the CDR)...

I have read some forums on this, so I do know that the TY media is good, as is Verbatim, however, I just wondered if there is anything specific I can do to get media to play in my car?

Should I burn MP3s TAO, DAO, low speed, high speed, et cetera...

Is this issue due to my car's MP3 player (which is made by Delphi, and I've heard a lot of bad things about their product's compatability with MP3s), or is this a media issue? For what it's worth, the player will play just about any brand of CDR if it is in Redbook (regular audio CD) format, it just hates CDRs with MP3s on them. Thanx in advance.

I would try burning as slow as your burner allows, and try better media. Disc at once may help as well. And for testing, at least, be sure the MP3s are 128kbps, constant bit rate, no ID3 tags. (that tends to be the absolutely most compatible-- once you know how to burn, then you can start seeing what the limits of what the stereo accepts are)

or you could buy a aftermarket deck, one that will sound 10x better and function like it should

hi;
you are burning as Data Cd (not AudioCD) ..yes ?
use DAO whenever possible.
Use Taiyo-Yuden media or even Verbatim (MIJ , not taiwan).
Burn at the highest rated speed possible (or near to it) for ex; 40x12x48 (write, rewrite, read) - should be burned at 32x-40x

Hi,
I've a Kenwood car MP3 CD player and a Liteon LTR-52327S. I've burned an MP3 CD at 52x onto a Sony CDR-700MB. I've got 4 main folders, but the third folder's songs are always skipping.

Firmware is QS09 - is it worth updating it to a newer version? If so, which one?

I'm confused whether to burn at highest or lowest speed, there's conflicting posts.

Appreciate it if anyone can help please.
Thanks.
Jon

Thanks for your help dodecahedron and hoxlund.

I've been to Lite-On's site, but the only active link is for the E5 firmware, do you know where I can get QS0B?

Thanks Again,
Jon
