Can someone tell me what files PKengine358.exe will update?
I hate installing program updates without knowing what is going to be updated.

do you mean PXengine358 ?
it's an update to the burning engine of Prassi, which is used by some burning applications.
unless you encounter problematic burnings/bugs with your software, or you have a new drive that isn't recognized by your software, you don't really have to install the update.

but hey, you can install it, and if you don't like it uninstall the burning software and install the original version you have (the only way i can think of 'downgrading' the burning engine if you don't like the update, or if it causes problems you didn't have before).

PXengine358 is outdated,I recommend using PXengine507 if you're using RecordNow DX/MAX up to v4.6:

www.dvd-recordable.org/Reviews+index-re ... -137.phtml

BTW...this update will also work with:
-MyCD & MyCD Pro

- PrimoCD & PrimoCD Plus, PrimoCD Pro8, PrimoCD Pro16, PrimoCD Pro64 & PrimoDVD

- Click'N Burn Plus & Click'N Burn Pro

Well now i am throughly confused.
The page you referenced seems to be installing an earlier version of PXdrv.dll than i have installed now. My version is 1.01.42a.
I am still not sure what files will be replaced by the PXengine507 exe.
My PX.dll is version 1.1.0.358 so can I say I already have PXengine358 installed?

The reason I ask what files will be replaced, is so i can make a backup copu for the files being replaced.

It sounds like you have 358 installed because I looked at my PX.dll file and it says "1.6.14.507",.Make sure you make a restore point first just in case.
Recap:
1.Make a restore point.
2.Install Pxengine507 then reboot.
3.If you have a DL writer then drop the modified files(from link) into C:\Program Files\Veritas(Stomp,etc)\RecordNow\

Thanks. I have installed the 507 but I don't have RecordNow So i dont need the second instruction. I'm using SyncBack for burning. Will have to run it for a bit and see if the update problem is resolved.
Thanks for your help.
