CompUSA/QPS $100rebate saga ends in SUCCESS + it gets better

1) After over 7 months and several official complaints etc. (although I think CompUSA decided to resolve the issues and help ALL those who complain - not just me), I got my $100 giftcard today :) (not quite cash, but I am sure I'll find something- I spent $200 in the last 2 weekends alone there).

CompUSA did right by me
In addition to the $100 giftcard today, I received a professional letter from the customer service coordinator stating that even though this was a manufacturer (QPS not CompUSA) rebate, they (CompUSA) value me as a customer, and want to do whatever it takes to keep all their customers satisified. They also apologized for the inconvenience and so forth.

When I called last week, they said they were resolving the issue by sending out giftcards. They said they would send it out the same day; which they indeed did.

My CompUSA boycott is over, as I promised to myself.
They have satisfied me...

2) What is better yet, is that I sold the QPS DVD burner (for a great price) just weeks before the surprisingly cheap hot deal on the DRU-500A DVD burner offer (after TWO stackable instant discounts, the second of which most people didn't have) was announced.
It doesn't get much better than this :)

Except
3) for the fact that I got this regarding the DRU500A (not ordered at CompUSA to avoid confusion).
I ordered three weeks ago!!:

We have reviewed your order. Oh well, can't have it all :(

Veff I am glad everything worked out to your satisfaction, but I am confused, if you were boycotting them, how did you spend over $200.00 over the past 2 weekends????

Good question:
It was only two items.
I boycotted them as much as humanly possible
The first item a week ago ($88 including tax) was the first thing I bought there in ages.
At that time, I had ALREADY heard from someone (which turned out to be true) that CompUSA was settling the DVD burner rebate issue with gift cards.

The second item was bought just this weekend. This is AFTER they had settled my case over the phone with me, and had already mailed out my gift card, which I received yesterday.

Hope that answers it. :)

OK, but you read on a lot of forums about people boycotting stores or brands because they were wronged (I know I will never buy another Fossil watch), but lets face it, we all want the best value for our money and 9 times out of 10 that comes down to price. To quote Ozzie Myers, "Money talks and BS walks". Again I am glad everything worked out for you.

PS: if you find a great deal on a Fossil watch, please post it in the Hot Deals section :D .

(This info was posted on a hot deals forum):

It appears that QPS, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection a while ago has reorganized under the DPS name.
